Why this blog?

In 2021, we went on a road-trip to Slovenia with our 1st little boy, who was just a year old at the time.

We fell completely under the spell of this confidential yet exceptional destination, and were won over by the serenity and friendliness of the Slovenians, the ease of getting around the country and the diversity of landscapes between lakes, mountains and coastal towns.

In March 2023, we had our 2nd little boy, and it seemed obvious that the road-trip format was the most suitable for us for these 1st vacations for 4: the boys can take naps in the car, we can pack all our stuff (stroller, cot, diapers, bottles, etc.), and we can easily move from one place to another.

When it came to choosing a destination, we quickly settled on Austria, which borders Slovenia, and which seemed to have the same profile: a destination with few tourists, varied natural landscapes, a rich culture and a size that's ideal for road-trips. To prepare our trip, we read up on the Internet, through blogs and the experiences of other travelers. For our trip to Slovenia, we were largely inspired by the sloveniesecrete website, which is full of nuggets and detailed advice on this destination.

So we've decided to document our trip to Austria through this blog, with the aim of sharing our adventures, tips and experience, which we hope will inspire other travelers to explore this beautiful destination!
